National Dance Project Production Grant Awarded!!DANCING EARTH proudly announces that we have been selected by the prestigious National Dance Project for a production grant, for Rulan Tangen create a full length new work for 4 male and 4 female company members,  early in 2010 for national touring starting June 2010 !OF BODIES OF ELEMENTS [working title] , is envisioned as an exploration of Native perspectives on humanity's changing in relationship to earth. Indigenous ecology will be presented not only in theme, but ideally in collaborations with eco-sustainable design, materials and incorporation of green energy sources.It will be made possible by the Doris Duke Fund for Dance of the National Dance Project, a program administered by the New England Foundation for the Arts with funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Ford Foundation, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Community Connections Fund of the MetLife Foundation.In these economically challenging times, production is made possible through partnerships, in-kind support, private donations, and volunteering of skills.
