CALIFA 2022: Nourishing The Source

 “How do we nourish relationships?”

In 2022, emerging artist leadership became stronger with Gabriel Carrion-Gonzales joining CALIFA visioning. His first major project was to initiate a Queer-centered retreat in San Francisco to uplift this vital part of our Dancing Earth family and vision for loving inclusivity.

Meanwhile, the ground and seeds that had been nourished with support of previous seasons of RESTORING THE SOURCE retreats and honorees, began to generate interconnecting networks of relationships, like growing roots.

These include:

  • Support of DIVINE I Festival, produced by 2021 Honoree Tine Joy Ferrer, including CALIFA leader Elaine bringing her filmmaking skills to support media documentation. LINK TO MORE INFO

  • Support of CA live premieres with related public television screenings of film created by Toasterlab, documenting a past multi year project centering CA Native perspectives with creative process and production with DE artists . We were honored to sponsor honoraria for 2 CA Native cultural carriers and 1 DE artist representative to attend this amazing public sharing of local cultural multi-yar vision.
