EARTH BODY :
NEW & HALF MOON

9:30 - 11am

Faroles 3, Col. Atascadero
37700 San Miguel de Allende, Gto., Mexico

The beautiful space of CASA ANGELITOS
(Thank you, Roger, for your kind hosting!)

Artistic Director Rulan Tangen of Dancing Earth offers two EARTH BODY movement workshops to the community of San Miguel de Allende, uniquely designed for this place and time.

Rulan’s eco-somatic practices involve simple forms that revitalize energetic patterns by engaging intuition and imagination—accessible to individuals at any level of physicality, from professional athletes to curious beginners. Movements will be offered as a morning ritual, awakening the multi-sensory body and fostering a deep reconnection with both the inner dreamscape and the outer landscape. Each day begins by fully inhabiting your body and engaging the senses before diving into exciting creative activities in San Miguel de Allende.

Her eco-somatic language of physical expression has been shared with communities in 14 countries, through workshops, retreats, private coaching, cinematic expressions, and performances in theaters, galleries, deserts, and unconventional locations.

NEW MOON

Friday, Nov. 1st
9:30 - 11am

COST: Participation by donation, with a minimum suggested donation of 200 pesos.

The first workshop is timed close to the new moon, as community members prepare for the cosmic veils and mystical masking of Día de los Muertos, a time that evokes both ancestral honoring and fantastical guises. Inspired by the connections between the moon and waters, the phase of darkness and hidden light, and the ritual of revealing and becoming, the movements will center on circles, ripples, and spirals of sensuous somatic expression to ready the body, imagination, and intuition for the full experience of this potent, magical time in Mexico.

HALF MOON

Friday, Nov. 8th
9:30 - 11am

COST: Participation by donation, with a minimum suggested donation of 200 pesos.

The second workshop is timed with the half-moon cycle, representing balance, with imagery inspired by trees as expressions of reciprocal energy between land and sky. At this time of year, falling leaves demonstrate movements of release and letting go. We then continue the cycle of composting, softening into winter’s dream space, and making room to imagine and embody the new growth of spring, thus bringing the future into being through your embodiment.

CLASS BREAKDOWN

  • Opening 7 min Welcomes, intro, orientation, and invitation to share intention.

  • 51 min Accessible ‘Earth Body’ movements for all.

  • Final 11 min  Will be a group reflection circle about what is joyful, challenging, and what transformed during our time together.
